Other Terrain Press Submission Guidelines
Submissions to Other Terrain Press are closed and will be open again in 2026.
Please make sure you read and follow our submission guidelines and style guide before submitting your manuscript. Any submission we receive that does not meet the guidelines will be rejected.
While we will attempt to review your manuscript as quickly as possible, there may be times when a high number of submissions delays the process. If you do not hear back from Other Terrain Press within six months, we have decided that your manuscript does not have a home with us.
If your manuscript is rejected, please do not resubmit the same, unedited/restructured work.
However, we are happy to consider other works.
Guidelines
We will consider manuscripts in most genres including:
- literary fiction
- most non-fiction works (see below for excluded genres)
- literary and creative writing studies
- historical fiction
- crime fiction
- horror fiction
- romance fiction
- contemporary fiction
- young adult fiction
- science fiction
- dystopian fiction
- fantasy fiction
- poetry anthologies
- creative non-fiction
- memoir
- biography
- autobiography
However, at this time we do not accept:
- children’s picture books
- children’s junior fiction/non-fiction
- children’s middle-grade fiction/non-fiction
- children’s non-fiction books
- cookbooks

Style Guide
Cover Page: include the title, author name, author contact phone number, author contact email address and the total word count
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12pt
Line Spacing: 1.5 or double-spaced
Footer: page number, author name and email address
Footnotes and Referencing: Harvard author-date, e.g. (Smith 2008, p. 7), and the References at the conclusion of the article should be listed as follows:
